Registration for Open Doors 2020-2021 is now open

The Open Doors Olympiad is organised for potential Master and PhD students from abroad by the Association of Global Universities supported by Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Sechenov University is a co-organiser and active participant in this project right from the start.

This year, Open Doors introduces a new PhD track in addition to the Master's. Participants of the PhD track will get the chance to choose their PhD supervisors and have a one-on-one interview with them during the Olympiad.

In 2017-2018, more than 8,500 people from 160 countries took part in the Olympiad. There were 94 winners from 31 countries. In 2019-2020, over 33,000 people from 191 countries participated in the competition. There were 525 winners from 75 countries.

Any non-Russian citizen with a Bachelor’s degree who has already graduated or is graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is eligible to participate in the Olympiad.

The competition is held in two languages – Russian and English.

Both Master’s and PhD tracks take place in two stages, both are online. The first stage is the CV competition. Those who have been selected after the evaluation of the CVs are invited to take part in the second round - the Olympiad itself, which is a series of online tests.

The PhD track includes an additional round with a one-on-one interview with supervisors of your choice. And if successful, participants choose a supervisor among those who gave them a pass.
